Who can claim from the Road Accident Fund?
Passengers, pedestrians and drivers injured in a motor vehicle accident caused wholly or partly by another driver’s negligence — and the dependants of someone killed in such an accident — may be able to claim. Passengers can usually claim even from the vehicle they were travelling in.
Is there a time limit?
Yes. RAF claims and claims against the State are subject to strict prescription periods and notice requirements. Speak to an attorney as soon as possible after the incident.
What documents should I bring?
Bring your ID, the accident report or case number, medical records and any proof of expenses or lost income. If you do not have everything yet, contact us anyway.
