Questions clients ask

General information only — not legal advice for your situation. Speak to an attorney about your matter.

What happens if someone dies without a will?

Their estate is divided according to the Intestate Succession Act, which may not match their wishes. The estate must still be reported to the Master of the High Court.

How do I report a deceased estate?

The estate is reported to the Master of the High Court with the death certificate, the will (if any) and an inventory of assets. We can guide you through the documents.
